Honeysuckle Wood

    

 Honeysuckle contains a harmless neuro-stimulant called actinidine.

 

Actinidine is a chemical known to be attractive to members of felis domestica. It is found in valerian root, and honeysuckle shrubs. Cultivators such as silver vine also contains actinidine. These plants are sometimes destroyed by enthusiastic kitties.

Interestingly enough Actinidine is also a pheromone for a variety of insects such as ants and bees

 

Our HONEYSUCKLE LINE  uses aromatic honeysuckle wood from Edmonton, and Calgary, Alberta, plus Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. We steam distill the wood to remove the honeysuckle scent and ultimately a resin extract. In our honeysuckle toys we have decided to use only sifted honeysuckle powder. The powder is sewn into the fabric or lightly sprinkled onto the toy.

WE NO LONGER USE ANY LARGE HONEYSUCKLE WOOD PIECES WITHIN OUR PRODUCT LINE.
